Mission Statement

The mission of the Wichita Area Association of REALTORS New Agent Training is to provide training for our REALTOR members to increase their competence and confidence enabling them to achieve career success while emphasizing our Code of Ethics to maintain the highest level of ethics and professionalism.

Course Descriptions

A101 – GENERATING BUSINESS is the most important job that we as REALTORS® must do to make our business successful. This course stresses the importance of prospecting and will instruct the student in various methods for generating new business as well as giving them some hands on experience by providing scripts and the opportunity to role-play. Open houses, phone techniques, FSBO’s and Expireds are some of the topics that will be covered.

A102 - AGENCY is a course designed to instruct the student in presenting the BRRETA brochure, the advantages and responsibilities of buyer agency, filling out a Buyer Agency Agreement and a Transaction Broker Addendum. It will feature role-playing to better prepare the student to work with customers and clients.

A103 - LISTING A PROPERTY is a course that will guide the student through the process of interviewing the seller, presenting the marketing plan, doing the CMA, filling out the listing paperwork, and educating the seller.

A104 – WORKING WITH BUYERS is a course designed to prepare agents to work on the buyer side of the transaction. Course material will include educating the buyer on financing, taking them through the Buyer Counseling Session, showing homes, and closing the buyer.

B210–LOAN FINANCING is a course that will stress the importance of pre-qualifying buyers, and will give the student an overview of the differences between conventional, FHA and VA financing. The student will also get hands-on practice in preparing a cost to buy and net to sell.

B211 - WRITING CONTRACTS is organized to guide students through each paragraph of the contract, explaining what each means, and the best way to present it to their customers/clients.

B212 - COMPLETING ADDENDUMS will lead the student step by step through the process of filling out a lead based paint addendum, contingency addendum, back up addendum, requirement addendum, and how to instruct the client regarding the Seller’s Property Disclosure.

B213 - FROM CONTRACT ACCEPTANCE TO CLOSING is a course designed to review all of the tasks that a listing and selling agent must perform once there is a fully executed contract. Group activities will involve all participants in determining the correct order of procedures along with the responsibilities of each agent. Everyone will leave the class with handouts and a greater understanding of the entire closing process.

C320– CUSTOMER RENTENTION is a course designed to educate REALTORS â on the importance of building their business from day one. Goal setting and business planning is only the beginning. This course will also cover personal promotion and hiring and training an assistant which are helpful tools that will lead to success in the real estate business

C321 - SELLING NEW HOMES is an educational program that is designed to help those currently involved in new home sales, as well as those interested in this area, to improve their understanding and effectiveness in representing builders and housing environments. This course provides an overview of the opportunities and challenges of new and resale sales and marketing techniques. The information presented in this class will not only benefit current and future new home salespersons, but will provide a strong knowledge base for cooping agents representing buyers in a new home purchase.

C322- PERSONAL FINANCE FOR REALTORS® is a course designed to educate agents in the specific challenges of being an independent contractor as related to goal setting, income taxes, record keeping and budgeting. Students will leave the class with an understanding of how to keep track of deductible items and how to budget for taxes and expenses.

C323 - USING TECHNOLOGY TO MAKE YOU MONEY will introduce the student to technology tools that will help them to “work smarter, not harder”. This class will cover what kind of computer to buy and why, internet access, helpful websites, e-mail, other technology tools, and technology etiquette.
