About your "Dual" Membership

As a member of WAAR, you are also a member of The Kansas Association of REALTORS® and The National Association of REALTORS®.

NAR is known as “The Voice for Real Estate®,” and is also the world’s largest professional association. Founded in 1908, it has grown from its original nucleus of 120 to over 1.3 million members. As a NAR member, you are in the company of REALTORS® involved in residential and commercial real estate as brokers, salespeople, property managers, appraisers, counselors and others engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry.

KAR, founded in 1920, started with approximately 200 members divided among 7 boards. Although it has grown to over 10,000 members and 35 boards, KAR continues to help their members transition with the ever changing industry.

Working for America’s property owners, NAR and KAR provide a forum for professional development, research and the exchange of information among its members, the public, and government for the purpose of preserving the free enterprise system and the right to own and transfer ownership of real property.

The WAAR Connection

WAAR is one of the 1,700 local associations/boards and 54 state and territory associations of REALTORS® operating around the country. Many members also belong to other institutes, societies and councils to enhance their expertise and network with other real estate professionals, globally.

Your WAAR membership entitles you to all NAR privileges, including access to the member ONLY parts of the NAR site. You are also able to access all the programs, products and services from KAR, including KansasRealtor.com and KansasRealtorFamily.com. As a WAAR member, you have a voice at NAR and KAR – it is your REALTOR® Association and it exists to help you increase your business opportunities.
