Request
for Property Inspection Form (Well Inspection)
The City of Wichita's Department of Environmental Health has
increased fees related to private well and sewage disposal
systems. The Environmental Health Department has maintained
the previous fee levels for over ten years, while the cost
of providing these services has continued to increase
- ON-SITE SEWAGE SYSTEM PERMIT APPLICATION - $100. (Includes
permit application, inspection and permit approval.)
- ON-SITE SEWAGE SYSTEM PERMIT RENEWAL - $50. (On-site sewage
system permits are non-transferable. During a transfer of
ownership the existing permit will will be reissued under
new ownership.)
- INSPECTION OF NEW WELLS CONSTRUCTED WITHIN THE CITY -
$125. (The Environmental Health Department will inspect
upon receipt of the contractor's drilling report, as required
by City ordinance.)
- PROPERTY INSPECTIONS FOR TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OR REFINANCING
- $100 inspection charge; an additional $25 per sample will
be charged for properties requiring water well sample collection
and analysis. (Properties being sold or refinanced are encouraged
to submit inspection requests 4 weeks prior to the scheduled
closing to ensure processing can be completed in a timely
manner.)
- WELL WATER SAMPLES - sample collection and analysis for
presence of bacteria and nitrate level - $25/sample.
Some constituents require specialized services, and fairness
dictates that those who require the additional services should
bear the cost. Effective January 15, we will provide the services
below, with the fees indicated:
- RE-INSPECTION - $50 if a return visit is required for
approval of a new or modified system or if corrections requested
on an initial property inspection have not been completed.
- SHORT NOTICE REQUESTS FOR PROPERTY INSPECTIONS - will
asses a fee of $100 in addition to the standard inspection
fee if received within 5 days of a closing date.
- INSPECTION CANCELLATION if not received within 24 hours
of the scheduled appointment: $50 for property inspections;
$25 for well water sampling.
If there are any questions as to specific billings, or general
inquiries concerning fee structure, please call 268-8440.
Invoices continue to be payable within 30 days of issuance.
